오늘은 제작년 10월에 세상을 떠났고 우리에게 잘 알려졌던 Roger Williams를 만납니다. 지금 흐르는 곡은 'The Green Leaves Of Summer'를  Roger Williams의 피아노 연주로 듣습니다.

Nebraska주의 Omaha에서 출생했으며 3살 때부터 피아노를 배웠답니다. 고등학교 다닐적에는 아버지의 권유로 권투를 했었고 그러다 다치기도 했었고요.  줄리아드음악학교(the Julliard School of Music)에서 재즈피아노를 전공했습니다. 그리고 1955년에 <고엽 Autumn Leaves>을 발표해서 100만 개의 레코드를 판매하고 기반을 쌓았습니다.

Roger Williams (October 1, 1924 – October 8, 2011), born Louis Jacob Weertz,

was an American popular music pianist. As of 2004, he had released 116 albums.

and Platinum album to his credit. He is a Steinway Artist, he is the first and

 (so far) only artist to receive the Steinway Lifetime Achievement Award.

"Autumn Leaves" is a much-recorded popular song. Originally a 1945 French song "Les feuilles mortes" (literally "Dead Leaves") with music by Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert, English lyrics were written in 1947 by the American songwriter Johnny Mercer. It has become a pop standard and a jazz standard in both languages, and as an instrumental. "Les feuilles mortes" was introduced by Yves Montand in 1946 for the film Les Portes de la Nuit.

The film Autumn Leaves (1956) starring Joan Crawford featured the song, which was sung by Nat King Cole over the title sequence. The French songwriter Serge Gainsbourg wrote "La chanson de Prévert" as a tribute to this song
