15 September Thu, 2016 Helping Each Other [ 2 Corinthians 1:3 - 1:7 ] - hymn220 [God] comforts us ... so that we can comfort those in any trouble. - 2 Corinthians 1:4 “The body of Christ” is a mysterious phrase used more than 30 times in the New Testament. The apostle Paul especially settled on that phrase as an image of the church. After Jesus ascended to heaven, He turned over His mission to flawed and bumbling men and women. He assumed the role of head of the church, leaving the tasks of arms, legs, ears, eyes, and voice to the erratic disciples—and to you and me.
Jesus’s decision to operate as the invisible head of a large body with many parts means that He often relies on us to help one another cope during times of suffering. The apostle Paul must have had something like that in mind when he wrote these words: “[God] comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ”(2 Cor.1:4–5). And all through his ministry Paul put that principle into practice, taking up collections for famine victims, dispatching assistants to go to troubled areas, acknowledging believers’ gifts as gifts from God Himself.
The phrase “the body of Christ” expresses well what we are called to do: to represent in flesh what Christ is like, especially to those in need. - Philip Yancey

who needs my encouragement today.
God’s presence brings us comfort;
our presence brings others comfort.
2 Corinthians 1:3–7
[3] Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
[4] who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
[5] For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.
[6] Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
[7] And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation.
2016년 09월 15일 (목) 서로 돕기 [ 고린도후서 1:3 - 1:7 ] - 찬송가 220장 [하나님은] 우리를 위로하사 우리로 하여금…모든 환난 중에 있는 자들을 능히 위로하게 하시는 이시로다 - 고린도후서 1:4 “그리스도의 몸”은 신약성경에 서른 번 이상 나오는 신비로운 표현입니다. 바울 사도는 특히 교회의 모습을 나타내는데 이 표현을 사용하였습니다. 예수님은 승천하신 후, 결점과 실수투성이인 사람들에게 주님의 사역을 맡기셨습니다. 주님은 교회의 머리의 역할을 담당하시고, 나머지 팔이나 다리, 귀, 눈, 그리고 목소리 역할은 변덕스러운 제자들에게, 그리고 당신과 나에게 맡기셨습니다.
예수님이 다양한 부분들로 구성된 큰 몸에서 보이지 않는 머리의 역할을 하고자 하신 것은, 몸의 지체들이 고난에 처할 때 이겨내도록 서로 돕는 일을 주로 우리에게 맡기신다는 것을 의미합니다. 바울 사도가 다음과 같이 썼을 때 그것을 염두에 두고 있었음이 분명합니다. “우리의 모든 환난 중에서 우리를 위로하사 우리로 하여금 하나님께 받는 위로로써 모든 환난 중에 있는 자들을 능히 위로하게 하시는 이시로다 그리스도의 고난이 우리에게 넘친 것 같이 우리가 받는 위로도 그리스도로 말미암아 넘치는도다”(고후 1:4-5). 바울은 자신이 사역하는 동안 언제나 그 원칙을 실천에 옮기며 살면서, 기아에 허덕이는 자들을 위해 구호품을 수집하고, 어려운 지역에 돕는 사람들을 보내며, 신자들이 보내준 것을 하나님의 선물로 알고 감사했습니다.
“그리스도의 몸”이라는 표현은 우리가 무슨 일을 해야 하는지를 잘 보여줍니다. 그것은 특히 어려움에 처한 사람들에게 그리스도를 닮은 모습을 몸으로 직접 보여주는 것입니다.

신실하게 항상 위로해주시니 감사합니다.
오늘 누가 저의 격려를 필요로 하는지를 보여주소서.
하나님이 함께 하심으로 우리에게 위로를 주시고,
우리가 함께 함으로 다른 사람들에게 위로를 준다.
고린도후서 1:3–7
[3] 찬송하리로다 그는 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님이시요 자비의 아버지시요 모든 위로의 하나님이시며
[4] 우리의 모든 환난 중에서 우리를 위로하사 우리로 하여금 하나님께 받는 위로로써 모든 환난 중에 있는 자들을 능히 위로하게 하시는 이시로다
[5] 그리스도의 고난이 우리에게 넘친 것 같이 우리가 받는 위로도 그리스도로 말미암아 넘치는도다
[6] 우리가 환난 당하는 것도 너희가 위로와 구원을 받게 하려는 것이요 우리가 위로를 받는 것도 너희가 위로를 받게 하려는 것이니 이 위로가 너희 속에 역사하여 우리가 받는 것 같은 고난을 너희도 견디게 하느니라
[7] 너희를 위한 우리의 소망이 견고함은 너희가 고난에 참여하는 자가 된 것 같이 위로에도 그러할 줄을 앎이라
우리는 구원 받는 자들에게나 망하는 자들에게나
