It was quite a few months before I realized that what I thought was a coincidental meeting had been good timing on my future husband’s part.
From the balcony of the church, he had seen me, deduced which exit I might be using, raced down two flights of stairs, and arrived seconds before I did. As he casually held the door and struck up a conversation, I was oblivious to the fact that his “impromptu” dinner invitation had been premeditated. It was perfect timing.
Perfect timing is rare—at least where humans are concerned. But God has specific purposes and plans for us, and His timing is always perfect.
We see that timing in the life of these Bible characters: Abraham’s servant prayed for a wife for Isaac. God answered his prayer by bringing the young woman to him (Gen.24). Joseph was sold as a slave, falsely accused, and thrown into prison. But eventually God used him to preserve many people’s lives during a famine (45:5-8; 50:20). And we marvel at Esther’s courage as Mordecai reminded her, “Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”(Est.4:14).
Are you disappointed in the pace of God’s plans? “Trust in the Lord”(Ps.37:3). God will open doors when the timing is perfect.

God’s timing is perfect—every time!
Psalm 37:3-11
[3] Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. [4] Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. [5] Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. [6] He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. [7] Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. [8] Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret--it only causes harm. [9] For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth. 완벽한 타이밍
[ 시편 37:3 - 37:11 ] - 찬송가393장
그의 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라 - 로마서 8:28
우연한 만남인줄 알았던 것이 사실은 결혼 전의 나의 남편이 만든 절호의 타이밍이었음을 나는 몇 달이 지난 후에야 알게 되었습니다.
그는 교회 발코니에서 나를 본 뒤 내가 어느 문으로 나갈지 판단을 내리고는 두 계단을 뛰어내려 나보다 한발 앞서 그 출입문에 당도했습니다. 그가 자연스럽게 문을 열어주며 말을 걸어왔을 때, 그의 ‘즉흥적인’ 저녁 초대가 미리 계획된 것이었다는 사실을 나는 전혀 몰랐습니다. 기막힌 타이밍이었습니다.
완벽한 타이밍은 아주 드뭅니다. 적어도 사람의 일에 관련해서는 그렇습니다. 그러나 하나님은 우리를 향한 특별한 목적과 계획을 가지고 계시며, 하나님의 타이밍은 항상 완벽합니다.
우리는 그러한 타이밍을 성경 속 인물들의 삶에서 볼 수 있습니다. 아브라함의 종이 이삭의 아내감을 위해서 기도했을 때, 하나님이 그의 기도를 들으시고 젊은 여인을 그에게로 이끌어오셨습니다(창 24장). 요셉은 종으로 팔려가 억울한 누명을 쓰고 감옥에 갇히게 되었지만, 하나님이 결국 그를 사용하셔서 기근 중에 많은 사람들의 생명을 보존케 하셨습니다(45:5-8; 50:20). 그리고 모르드개가 에스더에게 “네가 왕후의 자리를 얻은 것이 이 때를 위함이 아닌지 누가 알겠느냐”(에 4:14)라고 상기시켜 주었을 때 그녀가 보여준 용기에 우리는 감탄합니다.
당신은 하나님의 계획이 더디어서 실망하십니까? “하나님을 의뢰”(시 37:3)하십시오. 하나님은 완벽한 타이밍에 문을 열어주실 것입니다.
오늘 검은 구름이 덮고 있다 하더라도 햇빛이 비추일 것이니, 하나님을 믿으라 주님이 당신과 나의 길을 계획해 놓으셨으니 하나님을 믿으라 항상 믿음을 지키라
하나님의 타이밍은 언제나 완벽하다.
