McCasland Pack Up Your Sorrows [ Isaiah 53:1 - 53:6 ] - hymn538 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. — Isaiah 53:4 During the turbulent years of the 1960s, popular music in America was a strange mixture of protest and patriotism. Some songs lashed out against war, greed, and injustice in society, while others affirmed duty to country and traditional values. But “Pack Up Your Sorrows,” written by Richard Farina and Pauline Baez Marden, seemed to fit all of the categories with its focus on the quest for personal peace. The refrain said the following: Well, if somehow you could pack up your sorrows,  And give them all to me  You would lose them, I know how to use them,  Give them all to me.  Perhaps everyone hoped that someone really could bring them peace. The good news is that there is Someone who can! Isaiah 53 is a prophetic picture of Israel’s promised Messiah. Christians see its fulfillment in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows .... He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed”(vv.4-5). Jesus took our sins and sorrows on Himself so that we could be forgiven and have peace with God. Will you give Him your sorrows today?     Never a burden that He does not carry;Never a sorrow that He does not share;Whether the days may be sunny or dreary,Jesus is always there. — Lillenas No sorrow is too heavy for our Savior to bear. Isaiah 53:1-6 [1] Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? [2] He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. [3] He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. [4] Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. [5] But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. [6] We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

2013년 02월 28일 (목) 슬픔을 묶어서 [ 이사야 53:1 - 53:6 ] - 찬송가 538장 그는 실로 우리의 질고를 지고 우리의 슬픔을 당하였거늘 - 이사야 53:4 1960년대 미국의 격동기에는 저항 가요와 애국 가요가 이상하게 뒤섞여 인기가 있었습니다. 어떤 노래들은 전쟁과 탐욕, 사회의 불의를 통렬히 비난하고 있었고, 다른 노래들은 국가에 대한 의무와 전통적 가치를 지지하였습니다. 그러나 리처드 파리나와 폴린 바에즈 마덴이 썼던 “슬픔을 묶어서”라는 노래는 개인의 평안에 초점을 맞추면서 저항과 애국 두 가지 관점 모두에 잘 맞아 보였습니다. 노래의 후렴은 다음과 같습니다.   “당신이 어떻게든 당신의 슬픔을 모두 묶을 수만 있다면/ 그것들을 모두 내게 주세요/ 당신은 슬픔에서 벗어날 수 있고, 난 그 슬픔들을 어떻게 해결할지 알고 있으니/ 당신의 모든 슬픔을 내게 주세요.” 아마도 사람들은 모두 어떤 누군가가 정말로 그들에게 평화를 가져다주기를 기대했을 것입니다. 다행히도 그렇게 할 수 있는 분이 계십니다! 이사야 53장은 이스라엘에게 약속해주신 메시아의 모습을 미리 보여줍니다. 그리스도인들은 예수 그리스도의 죽음과 부활에서 그 약속이 이루어진 것을 봅니다. “그는 실로 우리의 질고를 지고 우리의 슬픔을 당하였거늘…그가 찔림은 우리의 허물 때문이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악 때문이라 그가 징계를 받으므로 우리는 평화를 누리고 그가 채찍에 맞으므로 우리는 나음을 받았도다”(4-5절). 예수님은 우리가 용서받고 하나님과 화평하게 되도록 우리의 죄와 슬픔을 손수 짊어지셨습니다. 오늘 주님께 당신의 슬픔을 드리지 않겠습니까?     주님은 어떤 짐도 다 지시고 어떤 슬픔도 함께 나눠주시네 맑은 날이나 흐린 날에나 예수님은 항상 거기 계시네 우리 구주께서 감당할 수 없을 만큼 큰 슬픔은 없다. 이사야 53:1-6 [1] 우리가 전한 것을 누가 믿었느냐 여호와의 팔이 누구에게 나타났느냐 [2] 그는 주 앞에서 자라나기를 연한 순 같고 마른 땅에서 나온 뿌리 같아서 고운 모양도 없고 풍채도 없은즉 우리가 보기에 흠모할 만한 아름다운 것이 없도다 [3] 그는 멸시를 받아 사람들에게 버림 받았으며 간고를 많이 겪었으며 질고를 아는 자라 마치 사람들이 그에게서 얼굴을 가리는 것 같이 멸시를 당하였고 우리도 그를 귀히 여기지 아니하였도다 [4] 그는 실로 우리의 질고를 지고 우리의 슬픔을 당하였거늘 우리는 생각하기를 그는 징벌을 받아 하나님께 맞으며 고난을 당한다 하였노라 [5] 그가 찔림은 우리의 허물 때문이요 그가 상함은 우리의 죄악 때문이라 그가 징계를 받으므로 우리는 평화를 누리고 그가 채찍에 맞으므로 우리는 나음을 받았도다 [6] 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다
