January 17, 2014 — by Dennis Fisher Heavenly Perspective [ 2 Corinthians 4:16 - 4:18 ] - hymn240 The things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. — 2 Corinthians 4:18 Fanny Crosby(http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_Crosby) lost her sight as an infant. Yet, amazingly, she went on to become one of the most well-known lyricists of Christian hymns. During her long life, she wrote over 9,000 hymns. Among them are such enduring favorites as “Blessed Assurance” and “To God Be the Glory.” Some people felt sorry for Fanny. A well-intentioned preacher told her, “I think it is a great pity that the Master did not give you sight when He showered so many other gifts upon you.” It sounds hard to believe, but she replied: “Do you know that if at birth I had been able to make one petition, it would have been that I was born blind? ... Because when I get to heaven, the first face that shall ever gladden my sight will be that of my Savior.” Fanny saw life with an eternal perspective. Our problems look different in light of eternity: “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal”(2 Cor.4:17-18). All our trials dim when we remember that one glorious day we will see Jesus!     Dear God, please help us to see this life from a heavenly perspective. Remind us that our trials, however difficult, will one day fade from view when we see You face to face. The way we view eternity will affect the way we live in time. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 [16] Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. [17] For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, [18] while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2014년 01월 17일 (금) 천국의 관점 [ 고린도후서 4:16 - 4:18 ] - 찬송가 240장 보이는 것은 잠깐이요 보이지 않는 것은 영원함이라 - 고린도후서 4:18 패니 크로스비(http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fanny_Crosby)는 아기였을 때 시력을 잃었습니다. 하지만 놀랍게도 그녀는 가장 유명한 찬송가 작사자 중의 한 사람이 되었습니다. 그녀는 긴 생애동안 9,000개 이상의 찬송가를 작사했습니다. 그 가운데는 「예수로 나의 구주삼고」와 「크신 일을 이루신 하나님께」와 같이 정말 오랫동안 사랑받는 곡들이 있습니다. 어떤 사람들은 패니를 불쌍하게 생각했습니다. 어떤 설교자가 선한 의도를 가지고 그녀에게 말했습니다. “저는 하나님께서 당신에게 그렇게 많은 재능을 부어주시면서 시력은 주시지 않은 것이 매우 유감스럽습니다.” 믿기 어렵지만 그녀는 이렇게 대답하였습니다. “제가 태어날 때 한 가지 소원을 말할 수 있었다면 그것은 맹인으로 태어나는 것이라는 걸 아세요? …왜냐하면 제가 천국에 갔을 때 제 눈을 처음으로 기쁘게 하는 것은 제 구주의 얼굴일 테니까요.” 패니는 인생을 영생의 관점에서 바라보았습니다. 우리가 당면한 문제들은 영생의 관점에서 보면 다르게 보입니다. “우리가 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 영광의 중한 것을 우리에게 이루게 함이니 우리의 돌아보는 것은 보이는 것이 아니요 보이지 않은 것이니 보이는 것은 잠깐이요 보이지 않는 것은 영원함이니라”(고후 4:17-18). 예수님을 만날 영광의 날을 생각하면 우리의 모든 환난은 아무 것도 아닙니다!     사랑하는 하나님, 우리로 하여금 이 세상의 삶을 천국의 관점으로 바라보게 도와주소서. 우리의 시련이 아무리 힘들어도, 주님의 얼굴을 마주하는 그날 우리의 눈앞에서 사라진다는 것을 기억하게 하소서. 영생을 바라보는 방법에 따라 현재의 삶의 방식이 달라진다. 고린도후서 4:16-18 [16] 그러므로 우리가 낙심하지 아니하노니 우리의 겉사람은 낡아지나 우리의 속사람은 날로 새로워지도다 [17] 우리가 잠시 받는 환난의 경한 것이 지극히 크고 영원한 영광의 중한 것을 우리에게 이루게 함이니 [18] 우리가 주목하는 것은 보이는 것이 아니요 보이지 않는 것이니 보이는 것은 잠깐이요 보이지 않는 것은 영원함이라

10 We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus    may also be revealed in our body.  11 For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body.  12 So then, death is at work in us, but life is at work in you. 13 It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.”[b] Since we have that same spirit of[c] faith, we also believe and therefore speak,  14 because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself.  15 All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.  17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.  18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.       본분에 소개된 맹인 찬송가 작사자 Fanny J.
