참고 견딜 만한 세상                      법정

 

 

저마다 자기 나름대로의 꽃이 있다.

다 꽃씨를 지니고 있다.

그러나 옛 성인이 말했듯이,

역경을 이겨 내지 못하면

그 꽃을 피워 낼 수 없다.

하나의 씨앗이 움트기 위해서는

흙속에 묻혀서 참고 견뎌 내는

인내가 필요하다.

그래서 사바 세계,

참고 견디는 세계라는 것이다.

 

여기에 감추어진 삶의 묘미가 있다.

우리가 살아가는 이 세상이

사바 세계라는 사실을

다시 한 번 기억해야 한다.

극락도 지옥도 아닌 사바 세계.

참고 견딜 만한 세상.

여기에 삶의 묘미가 있다.

A World Worth Enduring

                              Beop Jeong

 

Each one of has a particular flower of our own.

We all possess flower seeds.

Yet, like the ancient sages noted,

if you do not triumph over adversity

that flower can never blossom.

In order for this one seed to sprout,

we need the perseverance to patiently endure

being buried within the soil.

That is why the term sabba

 refers to a world of suffering and enduring.

 

Here is the hidden charm of life.

As we continue living,

we have to once again remember that

this world is a world to be endured.

A world to be endured, with neither heaven nor hell,

a life worthy of suffering through and withstanding.

Here is where the charm of life resides.
