Listen through the entire Gospel of Mark! Join us on Sunday, June 3 @ 5:30pm CrossPoint Church Worship Center   Are you serious!?   Yep, we’re going to listen through, in one sitting, the entire book of Mark. It will take about 90 minutes (less than the average movie) for the Gospel to be read with no headings, chapters, or verses—just a straight (and dramatic) narrative of the “good news about Jesus Christ, the Son of God.” (Mark 1:1) Why are we doing this?   There's a verse in 1 Timothy 4:13 that says, "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching." In this verse, Paul is instructing a young preacher named Timothy in the ways that he can keep his congregation engaged. The importance of preaching and teaching are easy enough to understand, but what about the public reading of Scripture? Listening to the Bible read out loud is an ancient practice that offers us an example for a different way of engaging the Scriptures.
