27 April Fri, 2012 A CALL TO COMMITMENT [ Luke 9:57 - 9:62 ] - hymn320 No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. - Luke 9:62 Many health and fitness centers expect a flood of people to join every January who will come only a few times. They don’t mind if people pay the fee and never return. But fit-ness trainer Jesse Jones takes the opposite approach. If you sign up and don’t show up, he will terminate your membership. Jones says, “Save your money. Come see me in a few months when you’re serious. My passion is not for another three-month payment ... we’re making people accountable to reach their goals.” In Luke 9:57-62, we encounter three people who told Jesus they wanted to follow Him, and all received what seem to be harsh replies from the Lord: “The Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head”(v.58). “Let the dead bury their own dead”(v.60). “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God”(v.62). For each person, Jesus stated the sacrifice and commitment required to become His disciple. A man I admire as a dedicated and sensitive follower of Christ says that Christians need to be “ready for radical commitment and change.” The Lord calls us not only to leave the status quo, but also to take that calling seriously by following Him. - David McCasland     Lord, I want to be sold out for You. I want to love You with my whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. Give me the power to be who You want me to be, and to walk in Your ways. Following Jesus demands our all. Luke 9:57-62 [57] Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, "Lord, I will follow You wherever You go." [58] And Jesus said to him, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." [59] Then He said to another, "Follow Me." But he said, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father." [60] Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God." [61] And another also said, "Lord, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house." [62] But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

2012년 04월 27일 (금) 헌신하라는 부름 [ 누가복음 9:57 - 9:62 ] - 찬송가 320장 손에 쟁기를 잡고 뒤를 돌아보는 자는 하나님의 나라에 합당하지 아니하니라 - 누가복음 9:62 매년 1월이 되면 헬스클럽들은 등록 후 몇 번 밖에는 오지 않을 사람들이 많이 등록하기를 기대합니다. 그들은 사람들이 회비만 다 내면 다시는 오지 않더라도 전혀 상관하지 않습니다. 그러나 헬스클럽 트레이너 제시 존스는 이와는 정반대입니다. 만일 등록만 하고 헬스클럽에 오지 않는 사람이 있으면, 그는 그 사람을 제명시킵니다. 존스는 말합니다. “돈을 아끼시고 몇 달 후에 정말 확신이 있다면 그때 오십시오. 내가 원하는 것은 3개월의 회비가 아닙니다...우리는 사람들이 자신의 목표를 스스로가 책임지고 달성하도록 하고 있습니다.” 누가복음 9:57-62에는 예수님을 따르겠다고 하는 세 사람이 등장합니다. 그들은 모두 예수님으로부터 가혹한 말씀을 듣게 됩니다. “인자는 머리 둘 곳이 없도다”(58절). “죽은 자들로 자기의 죽은 자들을 장사하게 하고...”(60절). “손에 쟁기를 잡고 뒤를 돌아보는 자는 하나님의 나라에 합당하지 아니하니라”(62절). 예수님은 자신의 제자가 되기 위한 희생과 헌신을 각 사람에게 말씀하십니다. 헌신적이고 열성적인 그리스도의 제자로 내가 존경하는 한 사람이 그리스도인들은 “근본적인 헌신과 변화”를 받아들일 준비가 되어 있어야 한다고 말했습니다. 주님은 우리가 현상태를 벗어나는 것 뿐만 아니라 주님을 따름으로써 주님의 부르심을 심각하게 받아들이라고 부르십니다.     주님, 주님을 위해 저의 전부를 드리고 싶습니다. 저의 온 마음과 영과 정신과 힘을 다하여 주님을 사랑하기 원합니다. 주님이 원하시는 사람이 되고 주님의 길을 따라 갈 수 있는 능력을 부어 주세요. 예수님을 따르려면 우리의 모든 것을 드려야 한다. 누가복음 9:57-62 [57] 길 가실 때에 혹이 여짜오되 어디로 가시든지 저는 좇으리이다 [58] 예수께서 가라사대 여우도 굴이 있고 공중의 새도 집이 있으되 인자는 머리 둘 곳이 없도다 하시고 [59] 또 다른 사람에게 나를 좇으라 하시니 그가 가로되 나로 먼저 가서 내 부친을 장사하게 허락하옵소서 [60] 가라사대 죽은 자들로 자기의 죽은 자들을 장사하게 하고 너는 가서 하나님의 나라를 전파하라 하시고 [61] 또 다른 사람이 가로되 주여 내가 주를 좇겠나이다마는 나로 먼저 내 가족을 작별케 허락하소서 [62] 예수께서 이르시되 손에 쟁기를 잡고 뒤를 돌아보는 자는 하나님의 나라에 합당치 아니하니라 하시니라
