             I have wished a bird would fly away,
                나는 새가 날아가 버리길 바랬다

             And not sing by my house all day;
                하루 종일 내 집에서 노래하지 말고 
            

             Have clapped my hands at him from the door

                밖으로 나와 새에게 손뼉을 치기도 했다 
             When it seemed as if I could bear no more.

                더 이상 참을 수 없다 싶었을 땐

  

   The fault must partly have been in me.

    잘못은 얼마간 내게 있었음에 분명하다 
   The bird was not to blame for his key.

   노래를 불렀다 해서 탓할 일이 아니었으니

  

   And of course there must be something wrong

   게다가 어떠한 노래이든 그것을 
   In wanting to silence any song.

   침묵시키려는 데는 무언가 옳지 않은 점이 있다

Robert Lee Frost (March 26, 1874 – January 29, 1963) was an American poet. He is highly regarded for his realistic depictions of rural life and his command of American colloquial speech. His work frequently employed settings from rural life in New England in the

early twentieth century, using them to examine complex social and

philosophical themes. one of the most popular and critically respected American poets of his generation, Frost was honored frequently during his lifetime, receiving four Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry.
