27 February Thu, 2014 - Julie Ackerman Link Consider The Lilies [ Psalms 19:1 - 19:6 ] - hymn78 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. — Psalm 19:1 I enjoy nature and giving praise to its Creator, but I sometimes wrongly feel guilty for admiring it too much. Then I remember that Jesus used nature as a teaching tool. To encourage people not to worry, He used simple wildflowers as an example. “Consider the lilies,” He said, and then reminded people that even though flowers do no work at all, God dresses them in splendor. His conclusion? If God clothes something temporary in such glory, He surely will do much more for us (Matt.6:28-34). Other portions of Scripture indicate that creation is one of the ways God uses to tell us about Himself: “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork,” wrote David. “Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge”(Ps.19:1-2). “Let the heavens declare His righteousness, for God Himself is Judge,” Asaph said (50:6). And Paul wrote, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse”(Rom.1:20). God so loves us and wants us to know Him that He put evidence of Himself everywhere we look.     Father, Your love is overwhelmingly evident, yet so often we miss it.  Thank You for the unfailing reminders of Your grace, love, and mercy. Give us eyes to see Your beauty in Your creation. In God’s pattern book of nature we can trace many valuable lessons. Psalm 19:1-6 [1] To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. [2] Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. [3] There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. [4] Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, [5] Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. [6] Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

2014년 02월 27일 (목) 백합화를 생각하라 [ 시편 19:1 - 19:6 ] - 찬송가 78장 하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다 - 시편 19:1 나는 자연을 즐기며 자연을 지으신 창조주를 즐겨 찬양합니다. 그러나 가끔은 지나치게 자연을 찬양하는 것에 잘못된 죄책감을 느낍니다. 하지만 예수님도 자연을 가르치는 도구로 사용하셨던 것을 기억합니다. 사람들에게 염려하지 말라고 격려하실 때 주님은 하찮은 야생화를 예로 드셨습니다. 예수님은 “백합화를 생각하여 보라”라고 말씀하시면서, 꽃들은 전혀 일하지 않아도 하나님이 화려하게 입혀주신다는 것을 사람들에게 상기시켜 주셨습니다. 주님의 결론은 이것입니다. 하나님께서 이렇게 잠시 있는 것들도 영화롭게 입히신다면, 우리를 위해서는 분명 그보다 훨씬 더 많은 일들을 해주실 것입니다(마 6:28-34). 성경의 다른 곳에서는 창조는 하나님이 자신에 대해 말씀하시기 위해 사용하는 방법 중에 하나라고 가르치고 있습니다. 다윗은 다음과 같이 썼습니다. “하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다 날은 날에게 말하고 밤은 밤에게 지식을 전하니”(시 19:1-2). “하늘이 그의 공의를 선포하리니 하나님 그는 심판장이심이로다”(50:6)라고 아삽은 말했습니다. 바울도 “창세로부터 그의 보이지 아니하는 것들 곧 그의 영원하신 능력과 신성이 그가 만드신 만물에 분명히 보여 알려졌나니 그러므로 그들이 핑계하지 못할지니라”(롬 1:20)라고 말했습니다. 하나님은 우리를 너무나 사랑하시고 우리가 하나님을 알기를 너무나 원하시기에 우리가 어디를 보든지 하나님 자신을 드러내는 증거를 거기에다 두십니다.   하나님 아버지, 하나님의 사랑이 너무나도 확실하지만, 우리는 너무나 자주 그것을 놓칩니다. 하나님의 은혜, 사랑, 그리고 자비를 변함없이 상기시켜 주셔서 감사합니다.  하나님의 피조물을 보며 주님의 아름다움을  발견할 수 있는 눈을 저희에게 주시옵소서. 하나님이 만드신 자연이라는 견본에서 우리는 가치 있는 교훈을 수 없이 찾을 수 있다. 시편 19:1-6 [1] [다윗의 시, 인도자를 따라 부르는 노래] 하늘이 하나님의 영광을 선포하고 궁창이 그의 손으로 하신 일을 나타내는도다 [2] 날은 날에게 말하고 밤은 밤에게 지식을 전하니 [3] 언어도 없고 말씀도 없으며 들리는 소리도 없으나 [4] 그의 소리가 온 땅에 통하고 그의 말씀이 세상 끝까지 이르도다 하나님이 해를 위하여 하늘에 장막을 베푸셨도다 [5] 해는 그의 신방에서 나오는 신랑과 같고 그의 길을 달리기 기뻐하는 장사 같아서 [6] 하늘 이 끝에서 나와서 하늘 저 끝까지 운행함이여 그의 열기에서 피할 자가 없도다
