21 June Sun, 2015 A Loving Father [ Psalms 103:7 - 103:13 ] - hymn292 As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him. — Psalm 103:13 The parents were obviously weary from dragging their two energetic preschoolers through airports and airplanes, and now their final flight was delayed. As I watched the two boys running around the crowded gate area, I wondered how Mom and Dad were going to keep the little guys settled down for our half-hour flight into Grand Rapids. When we finally boarded, I noticed that the father and one of the sons were in the seats behind me. Then I heard the weary father say to his son, “Why don’t you let me read one of your storybooks to you.” And during the entire flight, this loving father softly and patiently read to his son, keeping him calm and focused.  In one of his psalms David declares, “As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him”(Ps.103:13). The word pities refers to showing love and compassion. This tender word gives us a picture of how deeply our heavenly Father loves His children, and it reminds us what a great gift it is to be able to look to God and cry, “Abba, Father”(Rom.8:15). God longs for you to listen again to the story of His love for you when you are restless on your own journey through life. Your heavenly Father is always near, ready to encourage you with His Word. - Bill Crowder     I rejoice in Your presence and Your love for me, Lord. Today I choose joy in knowing Your love is  constant and unchanging, forever fixed. God’s great love for His child is one of His greatest gifts. Psalm 103:7-13 [7] He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel. [8] The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. [9] He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. [10] He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. [11] For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; [12] As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. [13] As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him.

2015년 06월 21일 (주일) 사랑이 넘치는 아버지 [ 시편 103:7 - 103:13 ] - 찬송가 292장 아버지가 자식을 긍휼히 여김 같이 여호와께서는 자기를 경외하는 자를 긍휼히 여기시나니 - 시편 103:13 공항과 비행기에서 에너지가 넘치는 서너 살 먹은 두 꼬마에게 끌려 다니느라 그 부모는 피곤한 기색이 역력한데, 때마침 마지막 비행기까지 지연되고 있었습니다. 복잡한 공항 게이트 주변을 뛰어다니는 두 사내아이를 보면서, 그 부모가 그랜드래피즈까지 30분 비행하는 동안 어린 아이들을 어떻게 진정시킬 수 있을까 궁금했습니다. 드디어 우리가 비행기에 오르게 되었을 때, 그 아빠와 꼬마 한 명이 내 뒤에 앉은 걸 알게 되었습니다. 그리고 피곤한 아버지가 아들에게 말하는 것을 들었습니다. “이야기 책 한 권을 아빠가 읽어 줄께.” 그리고 비행시간 내내, 이 사랑이 넘치는 아버지는 아들이 조용하고 집중하도록 아들에게 작은 소리로 꾸준히 책을 읽어주었습니다. 다윗은 그의 어느 한 시편에서 “아버지가 자식을 긍휼히 여김 같이 여호와께서는 자기를 경외하는 자를 긍휼히 여기시나니”(시 103:13)라고 썼습니다. ‘긍휼히 여기다’라는 단어는 사랑과 연민을 보여주는 것을 말합니다. 이 다정한 단어는 우리에게 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지가 그의 자녀들을 얼마나 깊이 사랑하는지를 잘 보여주고 있고, 우리가 하나님을 바라보고 “아빠 아버지”(롬 8:15)라 부를 수 있는 것이 얼마나 큰 선물인지를 깨닫게 해줍니다. 하나님은 당신이 인생의 여정 가운데서 쉼을 얻지 못할 때 당신을 향한 그분의 사랑 이야기를 다시 들을 수 있기를 애타게 바라십니다. 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지는 언제나 가까이 계시면서 그분의 말씀으로 우리를 격려하실 준비가 되어 있습니다.     주님, 나는 주님이 나와 함께 하시고 나를 사랑하심을 기뻐합니다. 주님의 사랑이 일정하고 변치 않으며  영원히 동일하다는 것을 알고 오늘 즐거워합니다. 하나님의 자녀를 향한 큰 사랑은 하나님의 가장 큰 선물 중의 하나이다. 시편 103:7-13 [7] 그의 행위를 모세에게, 그의 행사를 이스라엘 자손에게 알리셨도다 [8] 여호와는 긍휼이 많으시고 은혜로우시며 노하기를 더디 하시고 인자하심이 풍부하시도다 [9] 자주 경책하지 아니하시며 노를 영원히 품지 아니하시리로다 [10] 우리의 죄를 따라 우리를 처벌하지는 아니하시며 우리의 죄악을 따라 우리에게 그대로 갚지는 아니하셨으니 [11] 이는 하늘이 땅에서 높음 같이 그를 경외하는 자에게 그의 인자하심이 크심이로다 [12] 동이 서에서 먼 것 같이 우리의 죄과를 우리에게서 멀리 옮기셨으며 [13] 아버지가 자식을 긍휼히 여김 같이 여호와께서는 자기를 경외하는 자를 긍휼히 여기시나니

 

  미국은 매년 6월의 3번째 일요일이 아버지의 날이다.
