25 October Sun, 2015 Behind the Scenes [ John 3:22 - 3:31 ] - hymn321 He must become greater; I must become less. - John 3:30 The outreach activities of our church culminated with a city-wide service. As the team that had organized and led the events—comprised of our youth music group, counselors, and church leaders—walked onto the stage, we all excitedly applauded and poured out our appreciation for their hard work. One man, however, was hardly noticeable, yet he was the leader of the team. When I saw him a few days later, I thanked and congratulated him for his work and said, “We hardly noticed you during the program.” “I like to work in the background,” he said. He was not concerned with getting recognition for himself. It was time for those who did the work to receive appreciation. His quiet demeanor was an entire sermon to me. It was a reminder that when serving the Lord, I need not seek to be recognized. I can give honor to God whether or not I’m openly appreciated by others. A Christ-first attitude can subdue any petty jealousies or unhealthy competition. Jesus, who is “above all”(John 3:31), “must become greater; I must become less”(v.30). When we have this attitude, we will seek the progress of God’s work. It is Christ, not us, who should be the focus of all we do. - Lawrence Darmani     Jesus, be the center of my thoughts, desires, and actions. Control me and  use me. The spotlight is the place for Christ. John 3:22-31 [22] After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized. [23] Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. [24] For John had not yet been thrown into prison. [25] Then there arose a dispute between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purification. [26] And they came to John and said to him, "Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified--behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!" [27] John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. [28] "You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before Him.' [29] "He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. [30] "He must increase, but I must decrease. [31] "He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.

2015년 10월 25일 (주일) 무대 뒤 [ 요한복음 3:22 - 3:31 ] - 찬송가 321장 그는 흥하여야 하겠고 나는 쇠하여야 하리라 - 요한복음 3:30 우리 교회의 구제활동은 전 도시를 대상으로 하는 봉사로 절정을 이루었습니다. 청년 음악팀과 상담가, 교회지도자들로 구성되어 이 행사를 조직하고 이끈 팀이 무대 위로 올라오자, 우리는 그들의 열성적인 노력에 대해 열렬히 환호하며 치하했습니다.  그런데 팀 리더였던 한 남자가 눈에 띄지 않았습니다. 며칠 뒤 그를 보았을 때 그가 한 일에 대해 감사하고 축하하면서, 나는 “행사 때 거의 안 보이시던데요?”라고 말했습니다.  그는 “저는 뒤에서 일하기를 좋아합니다.”라고 말했습니다. 그는 자신이 인정을 받는 것에는 관심이 없었고, 그것은 앞에서 일한 사람들이 찬사를 받는 자리였다는 것이었습니다.  그의 조용한 태도는 그 자체가 나에게 완전한 설교였습니다. 그것은 주님을 섬길 때 내가 인정을 받으려고 할 필요가 없다는 것을 상기시켜 주었습니다. 다른 사람들이 나를 공개적으로 칭찬하든지 그렇지 않든지 나는 하나님께 영광을 돌릴 수 있습니다. 그리스도를 가장 우선으로 하는 태도는 사소한 질투심이나 건전하지 않은 경쟁을 피할 수 있게 해줍니다.  “만물 위에 계신”(요 3:31) 예수님은 “흥하여야 하겠고 나는 쇠하여야 합니다”(30절). 우리가 이런 태도를 가질 때, 우리는 하나님의 사역이 점점 뻗어나가는 것을 추구하게 될 것입니다. 우리가 하는 모든 일의 초점은 내가 아니라 그리스도여야 합니다.     예수님, 제 생각과 소원, 그리고 제 행동의 중심이  되어주소서. 저를 통제하시고 사용하소서. 조명을 받을 곳은 그리스도가 계신 자리이다. 요한복음 3:22-31 [22] 그 후에 예수께서 제자들과 유대 땅으로 가서 거기 함께 유하시며 침례를 베푸시더라 [23] 요한도 살렘 가까운 애논에서 침례를 베푸니 거기 물이 많음이라 그러므로 사람들이 와서 침례를 받더라 [24] 요한이 아직 옥에 갇히지 아니하였더라 [25] 이에 요한의 제자 중에서 한 유대인과 더불어 정결예식에 대하여 변론이 되었더니 [26] 그들이 요한에게 가서 이르되 랍비여 선생님과 함께 요단 강 저편에 있던 이 곧 선생님이 증언하시던 이가 침례를 베풀매 사람이 다 그에게로 가더이다 [27] 요한이 대답하여 이르되 만일 하늘에서 주신 바 아니면 사람이 아무 것도 받을 수 없느니라 [28] 내가 말한 바 나는 그리스도가 아니요 그의 앞에 보내심을 받은 자라고 한 것을 증언할 자는 너희니라 [29] 신부를 취하는 자는 신랑이나 서서 신랑의 음성을 듣는 친구가 크게 기뻐하나니 나는 이러한 기쁨으로 충만하였노라 [30] 그는 흥하여야 하겠고 나는 쇠하여야 하리라 하니라 [31] 위로부터 오시는 이는 만물 위에 계시고 땅에서 난 이는 땅에 속하여 땅에 속한 것을 말하느니라 하늘로부터 오시는 이는 만물 위에 계시나니
