Date: 2012-1-01 Read:1 John 2:28-3:3 LET'S BE READY Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself. -1 John 3:3 Hymn162 Happy New Year! Looking forward to what this  new year might bring, I can't help but wonder  if 2012 will be the year when Jesus comes back.  But then I also wonder if I'm ready.  All of my life I've had to "be ready." As a child, I  had to be ready for dinner by washing my  hands. As an adult, being ready for important  responsibilities continues to be an ongoing  reality. But I've come to realize that nothing is  more important than being ready for our reunion  with Jesus.  Speaking of Christ's return, John tells us that  "everyone who has this hope in Him purifies  himself"(1 John 3:3). Looking forward to  Jesus' return fills us with hope-not a wish list kind  of hope, but a solid expectation that motivates  us to keep our hearts from sinful distractions  and rivets our attention on becoming more like  Him. If we really believe that this might be the  year of His return, we will be more ready to  forgive, to seek forgiveness, and to share God's  unconditional love with others.  As we consider the possibility that Jesus could  return this year, let's be sure that we are ready.  Let's strive to be pure as He is pure, anticipa-  ting the day when tears and sorrow, pain and  death will all be replaced with the everlasting joy  of His presence. -Joe Stowell  Expecting Jesus' soon return  Will help us live a life that's pure;  For if we're ready when He comes,  We will not be ashamed but sure. -Sper Wanting to be ready for Christ's return  will make a difference in the way we live.

날짜: 2012-1-01 요한1서 2:28-3:3 준비 합시다 주를 향하여 이 소망을 가진 자마다 그의 깨끗하심과 같이 자기를 깨끗하게 하느니라-요한1서 3:3 찬송가162 새해 복 많이 받으세요! 새해가 내게 무엇을 가져다 줄 것인가를 기대해 보면서 2012년에는 예수님께서 재림하시지 않을까 생각하지 않을 수 없습니다. 그리고는 또한 나는 준비가 되어있는지 생각해보게 됩니다.  나는 한 평생 “준비된 상태”로 살아야 했습니다. 어려서는 손 씻고 저녁 먹을 준비를 해야 했습니다. 성인이 되어서는 중요한 책무를 수행할 준비를 매일의 일과로 계속합니다. 그러나 나는 예수님과 우리의 재회를 위해 준비하는 것보다 더 중요한 것이 없다는 것을 깨닫게 되었습니다.  그리스도의 재림에 관해 요한은 “주를 향하여 이 소망을 가진 자마다 그의 깨끗하심과 같이 자기를 깨끗하게 하느니라”(요일 3:3)라고 우리에게 말합니다. 예수님의 재림을 기다림이 우리를 소망으로 채워줍니다. 이 소망은 막연한 희망사항 같은 것이 아니라 확신에 찬 기대입니다. 이러한 기대로 인하여 우리의 마음이 죄로 혼란해 지지 않고 우리는 예수님을 더 닮아가는 일에 주의를 집중하게 됩니다. 만일 새해가 예수님의 재림의 해일 수 있다는 것을 진실로 믿는다면 우리는 더 많이 용서하고, 더 많이 용서를 구하며, 하나님의 무조건적인 사랑을 다른 사람과 더 많이 나누도록 더욱 준비하게 될 것입니다.  예수님께서 새해에 재림하실 수 있는 가능성을 생각하면서 우리는 준비가 되었는지 확인합시다. 눈물과 애통과 아픔과 사망 모두가 예수님 앞에서 영원한 기쁨으로 대체되는 날을 기대하며, 예수님이 순결하신 것처럼 우리도 순결해지도록 노력합시다. 가까이 다가온 예수님의 재림에 대한 기대가  순결한 삶을 살도록 도와주네  그가 재림하실 때 준비되어 있다면  우리는 부끄러움 없이 확신 있게 맞을 것이네 그리스도의 재림 때 준비되어 있기를 바란다면  우리의 삶의 방식이 달라질 것이다.
