27 March Tue, 2012 The Real Thing [ 1 John 2:3 - 2:11 ] - hymn449 Whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. - 1 John 2:5 Achurch in Naperville, Illinois, is basking in excitement about its brand-new bells in the belfry above its sanctuary. When the church was built many years ago, they didn't have the money to purchase bells. How-ever, for its 25th anniversary they were able to raise the funds to hang three bells in the vacant space. Even though they are stunning, there is one problem: the congregation will never hear the bells ring. Although they look real, they are artificial. The apostle John wrote his first epistle to encourage believers not to just look like real Christians, but to prove they are genuine by how they live. The evidence that a person's faith is real is not found in some mystical experience with God. The proof that people truly know and love God is found in submitting to His authority and to His Word. John writes, "But whoever keeps His Word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked"(1 John 2:5-6). If we claim that we have been transformed by the gospel and intimately know and love God, we should validate it by our obedience to His Word. - Marvin Williams     Don't listen to the Word of God And then ignore what you have heard; Instead obey God's will for you- Be doers of the Word. - Sper Obedience to God is an ｅxpression of our love for God. 1 John 2:3-11 [3] Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. [4] He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [5] But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. [6] He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. [7] Brethren, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning. [8] Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining. [9] He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. [10] He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. [11] But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

2012년 03월 27일 (화) 진짜 [ 요한1서 2:3 - 2:11 ] - 찬송가 449장 누구든지 그의 말씀을 지키는 자는 하나님의 사랑이 참으로 그 속에서 온전하게 되었나니 이로써 우리가 그의 안에 있는 줄을 아노라 - 요한1서 2:5 일리노이 주 내퍼빌의 한 교회는 본당위의 종각에 설치된 새 종 때문에 흥분해서 들떠 있습니다. 오래 전 교회를 건축했을 때 그들은 종을 살 돈이 없었습니다. 그러나 교회 창립 25주년을 맞아 그들은 비어있는 공간에 종 세 개를 설치할 수 있는 자금을 조성할 수 있었습니다. 그런데 그 종이 아주 멋지긴 하지만 한 가지 문제가 있습니다. 성도들은 그 종이 울리는 소리를 절대 들을 수 없을 것입니다. 그 종이 진짜처럼 보이지만, 그것들은 가짜이기 때문입니다. 요한사도는 그의 첫 번째 서신에서 믿는 자들에게 진짜 그리스도인들처럼 보이려고만 하지 말고, 어떻게 살아가는지를 보여줌으로써 그들이 진짜라는 것을 증명하라고 권고했습니다. 사람의 믿음이 진짜라는 증거는 하나님과의 어떤 신비로운 체험 속에서 발견되는 것이 아닙니다. 사람들이 정말로 하나님을 알고 사랑한다는 증거는 하나님의 주권과 말씀에 복종하는 것에서 나타납니다. “누구든지 그의 말씀을 지키는 자는 하나님의 사랑이 참으로 그 속에서 온전하게 되었나니 이로써 우리가 그의 안에 있는 줄을 아노라 그의 안에 산다고 하는 자는 그가 행하시는 대로 자기도 행할지니라”(요1 2:5-6). 만약 우리가 복음으로 변화되었고, 하나님을 친밀하게 알고 사랑한다고 주장한다면, 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 모습으로 그것을 입증해야 할 것입니다.     하나님의 말씀을 듣고 나서 들은 말씀을 무시하는 자가 되지 말라 대신 당신을 향한 하나님의 뜻에 순종하여 말씀대로 행하는 자가 되라 하나님을 향한 우리의 사랑은 하나님께 순종하는 모습으로 표현된다. 요한1서 2:3-11 [3] 우리가 그의 계명을 지키면 이로써 우리가 저를 아는 줄로 알 것이요 [4] 저를 아노라 하고 그의 계명을 지키지 아니하는 자는 거짓말하는 자요 진리가 그 속에 있지 아니하되   [5] 누구든지 그의 말씀을 지키는 자는 하나님의 사랑이 참으로 그 속에서 온전케 되었나니 이로써 우리가 저 안에 있는 줄을 아노라 [6] 저 안에 거한다 하는 자는 그의 행하시는 대로 자기도 행할지니라 [7] 사랑하는 자들아 내가 새 계명을 너희에게 쓰는 것이 아니라 너희가 처음부터 가진 옛 계명이니 이 옛 계명은 너희의 들은 바 말씀이거니와 [8] 다시 내가 너희에게 새 계명을 쓰노니 저에게와 너희에게도 참된 것이라 이는 어두움이 지나가고 참 빛이 벌써 비췸이니라   [9] 빛 가운데 있다 하며 그 형제를 미워하는 자는 지금까지 어두운 가운데 있는 자요 [10] 그의 형제를 사랑하는 자는 빛 가운데 거하여 자기 속에 거리낌이 없으나 [11] 그의 형제를 미워하는 자는 어두운 가운데 있고 또 어두운 가운데 행하며 갈 곳을 알지 못하나니 이는 어두움이 그의 눈을 멀게 하였음이니라
