| Our Father In Heaven |

When Jesus taught us to pray, He began, “Our Father in heaven” (Luke 11:2). It is one of many Scriptures that refers to God as a father. I find it both fascinating and instructive that when God wanted us to know what He is like, He chose to emphasize His fatherhood.
What do we know about God as our Father? According to Jesus’ prayer, we know that our Father in heaven is available and attentive to us. It is also clear that He provides for us. He forgives us and protects us from evil (vv.2-4).
What a wonderful pattern for fathers who aren’t in heaven! Granted, there is only one perfect Father in the universe, but as such He sets the pace for the rest of us less-than-perfect fathers. I discovered early in my ministry that my children were not impressed with books I wrote, titles I had, or places I spoke. They craved my time and attention, the provision for basic needs, a love that patiently forgave, and the creation of a safe place for them to grow and mature. It’s a short but very profound list of fatherly duties.
And what about those who didn’t get a dad who met those needs? Take heart in the fact that if you have been redeemed through Jesus you have a perfect heavenly Father—and He’s the best Father of all.

Luke 11:1-13
[1] Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."
[2] So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
[3] Give us day by day our daily bread.
[4] And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one."
[5] And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves;
[6] 'for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him';
[7] "and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'?
[8] "I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
[9] "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
[10] "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
[11] "If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?
[12] "Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
[13] "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" | |

| 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지 |

| 아버지여 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며 - 누가복음 11:2 |
예수님은 우리에게 기도를 가르치실 때, 하늘에 계신 우리 “아버지여”(눅 11:2)라며 시작하셨습니다. 이것은 하나님을 아버지로 언급한 많은 성경구절 중 하나입니다. 하나님께서 자신이 어떤 분인지 우리에게 알리시기를 원하실 때 그분의 아버지다움(부성)을 강조하셨다는 것이 매우 매력적이며 교훈을 준다는 것을 나는 알게 되었습니다.
우리의 아버지로서의 하나님에 대해 우리들이 아는 바는 무엇입니까? 하늘에 계신 우리의 아버지는 언제나 우리를 도울 만반의 준비를 갖추고 계신 분이며 또 우리에게 주의를 기울이시는 분임을 우리는 주기도문으로 압니다. 또한 하나님은 우리를 위해 공급해주시는 분임이 분명합니다. 하나님은 우리를 용서하시고 악으로부터 우리를 지키십니다(2-4절).
이 땅에 사는 모든 아버지들에게 하나님은 얼마나 훌륭한 모범인지요! 맞습니다. 우주를 통틀어 단 한분 완전하신 아버지가 계시며, 그분이 우리 완전치 못한 나머지 아버지들에게 친히 모범을 보여주십니다. 사역을 막 시작하였을 때, 내 아이들은 내가 쓴 책들이나, 내가 가진 지위, 혹은 내가 설교한 장소에 대해서 별로 감동받지 않았습니다. 대신 그들은 내가 시간과 관심을 가지고, 그들의 기본적 필요를 충족시켜주고, 인내로 용서하며 사랑을 베풀어 주고, 그리고 자신들이 자라나고 성숙할 수 있는 안전한 공간을 만들어 주기를 갈망했습니다. 이것은 아버지의 의무사항에 관한 짧지만 매우 심오한 목록입니다.
그런 필요들을 채워줄 아버지가 없는 사람들은 어떻겠습니까? 만일 당신이 예수님을 통해 구원을 받았다면 당신은 완전한 하늘의 아버지를 가진 것이며, 그분은 모든 아버지 중에서 제일 좋은 아버지이십니다. 이 사실에서 힘을 얻으십시오. |
누가복음 11:1-13
[1] 예수께서 한 곳에서 기도하시고 마치시매 제자 중 하나가 여짜오되 주여 요한이 자기 제자들에게 기도를 가르친 것과 같이 우리에게도 가르쳐 주옵소서
[2] 예수께서 이르시되 너희는 기도할 때에 이렇게 하라 아버지여 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며 나라가 임하옵시며
[3] 우리에게 날마다 일용할 양식을 주시옵고
[4] 우리가 우리에게 죄 지은 모든 사람을 용서하오니 우리 죄도 사하여 주시옵고 우리를 시험에 들게 하지 마옵소서 하라
[5] 또 이르시되 너희 중에 누가 벗이 있는데 밤중에 그에게 가서 말하기를 벗이여 떡 세 덩이를 내게 꾸어달라
[6] 내 벗이 여행 중에 내게 왔으나 내가 먹일 것이 없노라 하면
[7] 그가 안에서 대답하여 이르되 나를 괴롭게 하지 말라 문이 이미 닫혔고 아이들이 나와 함께 침실에 누웠으니 일어나 네게 줄 수가 없노라 하겠느냐
[8] 내가 너희에게 말하노니 비록 벗됨으로 인하여서는 일어나 주지 아니할지라도 그 간청함을 인하여 일어나 그 요구대로 주리라
[9] 내가 또 너희에게 이르노니 구하라 그러면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그러면 찾아낼 것이요 문을 두드리라 그러면 너희에게 열릴 것이니
[10] 구하는 이마다 받을 것이요 찾는 이는 찾아낼 것이요 두드리는 이에게는 열릴 것이니라
[11] 너희 중에 아버지된 자로서 누가 아들이 생선을 달라 하는데 생선 대신에 뱀을 주며
[12] 알을 달라 하는데 전갈을 주겠느냐
[13] 너희가 악할지라도 좋은 것을 자식에게 줄 줄 알거든 하물며 너희 하늘 아버지께서 구하는 자에게 성령을 주시지 않겠느냐 하시니라 | |
