Recently, I couldn’t find my credit card. I began frantically looking for it because losing a credit card is no small thing. Automatic payments and daily purchases would all be disrupted until it could be replaced. Not to mention the possibility of someone finding it and charging items to our account. What a relief it was when my wife found it on the floor under the computer table.
In Luke 15:8-10, Christ told the story of something that was lost—a valuable coin, which was equivalent to a day’s wages. The woman who lost the coin was so concerned about locating it that she lit a lamp, swept the house, and carefully searched until she found it. Then she told her friends “Rejoice with me, for I have found the [coin] which I lost!” (v.9). Then Jesus gave the point of the story: “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” (v.10).
People are of great value to God. Those who don’t know Him are lost in their sins. Christ paid the ultimate price by dying on the cross for their redemption. Do you know people who are lost? Ask the Lord to give you an opportunity to share the good news with them so they can repent of their sins and be found by our gracious God. |
Luke 15:4-10
[4] "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?
[5] "And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
[6] "And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!'
[7] "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
[8] "Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it?
[9] "And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!'
[10] "Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents." | |

얼마 전에 나는 내 신용카드를 찾을 수가 없었습니다. 신용카드를 잃어버리면 복잡해지기 때문에 나는 정신없이 찾기 시작했습니다. 카드를 새로 발급받기까지는 자동이체나 일상적인 구매를 할 수 없게 될 것입니다. 다른 사람이 카드를 주워서 물건을 사서는 우리 계좌에서 지불하도록 하는 일도 당연히 있을 수 있습니다. 나는 아내가 그것을 컴퓨터 책상 밑 마루에서 찾았을 때 큰 안도의 숨을 내쉴 수 있었습니다.
누가복음 15:8-10에서 그리스도는 하루 임금에 상당하는 비싼 동전을 잃어버린 것에 대해 이야기를 하셨습니다. 동전을 잃어버린 여인은 그것을 찾을 때까지 등잔을 켜고 집 구석구석을 조심스럽게 훑었습니다. 그러고 나서 그녀는 친구들에게 “나와 함께 즐기자 잃은 드라크마(동전)를 찾아내었노라”(9절)라고 말했습니다. 예수님은 그 이야기의 요점을 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 너희에게 이르노니 이와 같이 죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하나님의 사자들 앞에 기쁨이 되느니라”(10절).
사람들은 하나님께 굉장히 소중한 존재들입니다. 하나님을 모르는 사람들은 그들의 죄 가운데서 길 잃은 자들입니다. 그리스도는 그들을 구원하시려고 십자가에서 죽으심으로 최고의 대가를 치르셨습니다. 당신은 길 잃은 사람들을 알고 있습니까? 그들과 복음을 나눌 기회를 달라고, 그래서 그들이 죄를 회개하고 은혜의 하나님께서 찾으실 수 있게 해달라고 주님께 간구하십시오. |

주님은 죄에 빠져 잃어버려진 세상을
찾아 구원하러 오셨네
누구든지 주님께 나아오면
회복되고 속사람이 변화 된다네 |

| 발견되려면 먼저 잃어버려진 것을 인정해야 한다. |

[4] 너희 중에 어떤 사람이 양 백 마리가 있는데 그 중의 하나를 잃으면 아흔아홉 마리를 들에 두고 그 잃은 것을 찾아내기까지 찾아다니지 아니하겠느냐
[5] 또 찾아낸즉 즐거워 어깨에 메고
[6] 집에 와서 그 벗과 이웃을 불러 모으고 말하되 나와 함께 즐기자 나의 잃은 양을 찾아내었노라 하리라
[7] 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이와 같이 죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하늘에서는 회개할 것 없는 의인 아흔아홉으로 말미암아 기뻐하는 것보다 더하리라
[8] 어느 여자가 열 드라크마가 있는데 하나를 잃으면 등불을 켜고 집을 쓸며 찾아내기까지 부지런히 찾지 아니하겠느냐
[9] 또 찾아낸즉 벗과 이웃을 불러 모으고 말하되 나와 함께 즐기자 잃은 드라크마를 찾아내었노라 하리라
[10] 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이와 같이 죄인 한 사람이 회개하면 하나님의 사자들 앞에 기쁨이 되느니라 | |
