We tend to believe that a lot more can be done if we have large financial resources, talented manpower, and innovative ideas. But these things don’t matter to God.Consider just a couple of examples:  In Judges 3:31, a relatively unknown man named Shamgar delivered Israel from the Philistines  single-handedly. How? He won a great victory  by killing 600 Philistines with nothing more than  an oxgoad (a stick sharpened on one end to  drive slow-moving animals).  In Exodus, when God asked Moses to lead the  people of Israel out of Egypt, Moses was afraid  the people wouldn’t listen to him or follow him.  So God said, “What is that in your hand?” (4:2).  Moses replied, “A rod.” God went on to use  that rod in Moses’ hand to convince the people  to follow him, to turn the Nile River into blood,  to bring great plagues on Egypt, to part the Red  Sea, and to perform miracles in the wilderness.  Moses’ rod and Shamgar’s oxgoad, when  dedicated to God, became mighty tools. This  helps us see that God can use what little we  have, when surrendered to Him, to do great  things. God is not looking for people with great  abilities, but for those who are dedicated to  following and obeying Him.  If you use what little you may have  To serve the Lord with all your heart  You will fin-d that He can do great things  When you begin to do your part. —Sper Little is much when God is in it.

날짜: 2011-09-27 출애굽기 4:1-9, 17 두 개의 막대기 이야기 너는 이 지팡이를 손에 잡고 이것으로 이적을 행할찌니라－출애굽기 4:17 찬송가514 적게 투자하면 많은 일을 이루어낼 수 없다는 것이 일반적인 생각입니다. 우리들은 만약 더 많은 재원과 재능 있는 인력, 그리고 혁신적인 아이디어가 있다면 더 많은 일들을 이룰 수 있을 것이라고 믿는 경향이 있습니다. 하지만 하나님께는 이런 것들이 중요하지 않습니다. 두 가지 예만 생각해보겠습니다.  사사기 3장 31절에, 비교적 덜 알려진 삼갈이라는 사람이 혼자 힘으로 블레셋 사람들로부터 이스라엘을 구원하였습니다. 어떻게요? 그는 소 모는 막대기(느리게 움직이는 동물들을 몰기 위해 한 쪽 끝을 뾰족하게 만든 막대기) 하나만으로 블레셋 사람 600명을 죽이고 큰 승리를 얻었습니다.  출애굽기에서, 하나님이 모세에게 이스라엘 백성들을 애굽으로부터 인도해내라고 말씀했을 때, 모세는 사람들이 자기 말을 듣지 않거나 따르지 않을까봐 두려워했습니다. 그래서 하나님이 “네 손에 있는 것이 무엇이냐”(4:2)라고 말씀하시니, 모세가 “지팡이니이다”라고 대답합니다. 하나님은 모세의 손에 들린 그 지팡이를 계속 사용하셔서 사람들이 모세를 따르도록 확신시켜주시고, 나일강물을 피로 변하게 하시며, 이집트에 역병이 창궐하게 하시고, 홍해를 가르시며, 광야에서 기적을 행하셨습니다.  모세의 지팡이와 삼갈의 소 모는 막대기가 하나님께 드려졌을 때 아주 강력한 도구로 변했습니다. 이것은 우리가 아무리 작은 것을 가지고 있다 해도 그것이 하나님께 온전히 드려진다면, 하나님은 그것으로 큰 일을 행하실 수 있다는 것을 우리에게 깨닫게 해줍니다. 하나님은 위대한 능력을 가진 사람들을 찾으시는 것이 아니라, 하나님께 온전히 헌신하여 그분을 따르고 순종하는 사람들을 찾으십니다.  주님을 온 맘 다해 섬기기 위해  아무리 작더라도 우리에게 있는 그것을 사용하여  우리의 본분을 다하기 시작할 때  주님이 위대한 일들을 하실 수 있다는 것을  알게 되리라 하나님이 함께 하시면 적은 것도 많은 것이 된다.
