[ Isaiah 55:1 - 55:9 ] - hymn452 Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. — 1 Samuel 16:7 A beautifying project on the main road of my town prompted the demolition of a church built in the 1930s. Although the windows of the empty church had been removed, the doors remained in place for several days, even as bulldozers began knocking down walls. Each set of doors around the church building held a message written in giant, fluorescent-orange block letters: KEEP OUT! Unfortunately, some churches whose doors are open convey that same message to visitors whose appearance doesn’t measure up to their standards. No fluorescent, giant-size letters needed. With a single disapproving glance, some people communicate: “You’re Not Welcome Here!” How people look on the outside, of course, is not an indicator of what is in their hearts. God’s focus is on the inner life of people. He looks far below the surface of someone’s appearance (1 Sam.16:7) and that’s what He desires for us to do as well. He also knows the hearts of those who appear to be “righteous” but are “full of hypocrisy” on the inside(Matt.23:28). God’s message of welcome, which we are to show to others, is clear. He says to all who seek Him: “Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters”(Isa.55:1).     Thank You, Lord, that You welcome all intoYour family, and You have welcomed me. Show mehow to be as accepting of others as You are.May I reveal Your heart of love. No one will know what you mean when you say, “God is love” — unless you show it. Isaiah 55:1-9 [1] "Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. [2] Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. [3] Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. [4] See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and commander of the peoples. [5] Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations that do not know you will hasten to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy one of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor." [6] Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. [7] Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. [8] "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD. [9] "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

[ 이사야 55:1 - 55:9 ] - 찬송가 452장 사람은 외모를 보거니와 나 여호와는 중심을 보느니라 - 사무엘상 16:7 내가 사는 지역의 주요 도로의 미화작업을 위해 1930년대에 지어진 교회 건물이 철거되었습니다. 비어 있는 교회의 창문들은 다 떼어냈지만 불도저들이 벽들을 허물기 시작할 때까지도 출입문들은 며칠간 제자리에 붙어있었습니다. 교회 건물의 모든 출입문에는 주황색의 형광 색으로 커다랗게 “출입금지!”라고 쓰여 있었습니다. 유감스럽게도 어떤 교회들은 문은 열려있지만 자기들의 기준에 미치지 못하는 모습의 방문객들에게 이와 똑같은 신호를 보냅니다. 형광 색으로 크게 써붙일 필요도 없이, 못마땅하게 힐끗 한번 쳐다보는 눈길로 이런 통보를 합니다. “여기서는 당신을 환영하지 않습니다!” 겉으로 보이는 모습이 결코 그 사람의 속마음을 나타내는 척도는 아닙니다. 하나님의 초점은 그 사람의 내면의 삶에 있습니다. 하나님은 사람의 외모보다 훨씬 깊은 곳을 보시고(삼상 16:7), 우리도 그렇게 하기를 원하십니다. 또한 하나님은 겉으로는 “의롭게” 보이지만 속마음은 “외식으로 가득한” 자들의 마음을 알고 계십니다(마 23:28). 우리가 다른 사람들에게 보여주어야 할 하나님의 환영 메시지는 분명합니다. 하나님은 하나님을 찾는 모든 사람들에게 “너희 모든 목마른 자들아 물로 나아오라”(사 55:1)라고 하십니다.     모든 사람들을 주님의 가족으로 맞아주시고, 저 또한 환영해주신 주님 감사합니다. 주님께서 하시듯 저도 다른 사람들을 받아들일 수 있도록 가르쳐 주소서. 저로 하여금 당신의 사랑의 마음을 드러내도록 하소서. 당신이 행동으로 보여주지 않는 한, “하나님은 사랑이시다”라는 당신의 말이 무슨 뜻인지 아무도 모를 것이다. 이사야 55:1-9 [1] 오호라 너희 모든 목마른 자들아 물로 나아오라 돈 없는 자도 오라 너희는 와서 사 먹되 돈 없이, 값 없이 와서 포도주와 젖을 사라 [2] 너희가 어찌하여 양식이 아닌 것을 위하여 은을 달아 주며 배부르게 하지 못할 것을 위하여 수고하느냐 내게 듣고 들을지어다 그리하면 너희가 좋은 것을 먹을 것이며 너희 자신들이 기름진 것으로 즐거움을 얻으리라 [3] 너희는 귀를 기울이고 내게로 나아와 들으라 그리하면 너희의 영혼이 살리라 내가 너희를 위하여 영원한 언약을 맺으리니 곧 다윗에게 허락한 확실한 은혜이니라 [4] 보라 내가 그를 만민에게 증인으로 세웠고 만민의 인도자와 명령자로 삼았나니 [5] 보라 네가 알지 못하는 나라를 네가 부를 것이며 너를 알지 못하는 나라가 네게로 달려올 것은 여호와 네 하나님 곧 이스라엘의 거룩하신 이로 말미암음이니라 이는 그가 너를 영화롭게 하였느니라 [6] 너희는 여호와를 만날 만한 때에 찾으라 가까이 계실 때에 그를 부르라 [7] 악인은 그의 길을, 불의한 자는 그의 생각을 버리고 여호와께로 돌아오라 그리하면 그가 긍휼히 여기시리라 우리 하나님께로 돌아오라 그가 너그럽게 용서하시리라 [8] 이는 내 생각이 너희의 생각과 다르며 내 길은 너희의 길과 다름이니라 여호와의 말씀이니라 [9] 이는 하늘이 땅보다 높음 같이 내 길은 너희의 길보다 높으며 내 생각은 너희의 생각보다 높음이니라
