Roper Hyperseeing [ Romans 8:28 - 8:30 ] - hymn214 When He is revealed, we shall be like Him. — 1 John 3:2 Sculptors have a term for the artist’s ability to look at a rough piece of stone and see it in its final, perfected form. It is called “hyperseeing.” Gutzon Borglum(1867–1941) is the sculptor who created many well-known public works of art. Probably the most famous is Mt. Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota. Borglum’s housekeeper captured the concept of hyperseeing when she gazed up at the massive faces of the four US presidents on Mt. Rushmore for the first time. “Mr. Borglum,” she gasped, “how did you know Mr. Lincoln was in that rock?” Hyperseeing is also a good description of our all-seeing God. He sees all that we are and more. He sees what we shall be when He has completed His work and we stand before Him, holy and without blemish: the exact likeness, the very image of Jesus. The God who started this great work in you will keep at it until He completes it on the very day Jesus Christ appears(see Phil.1:6). God will not be denied! He has such a longing for our perfection that nothing can or will remain an obstacle until He has finished the work He began so long ago. If only ... if only we will put ourselves in the Master Sculptor’s hands.     Doubt whispers, “Thou art such a blot; He cannot love poor thee.” If what I am He lovest not, He loves what I shall be. — MacDonald God works in us to grow us into what He wants us to be. Romans 8:26-30 [26] In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. [27] And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. [28] And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. [29] For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. [30] Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

2014년 02월 12일 (수) 초인적 안목 [ 로마서 8:28 - 8:30 ] - 찬송가 214장 그가 나타나시면 우리가 그와 같을 줄을 - 요한1서 3:2 조각가들은 거친 돌덩이에서 마지막 완성된 모습을 유추할 수 있는, 예술가적 능력인 “초인적 안목”을 가졌다고 합니다. 구존 보글럼(1867-1941)은 유명한 예술작품을 많이 제작한 조각가입니다. 가장 유명한 작품은 사우스다코타주의 러시모어 산에 있는 국립기념물일 것입니다. 보글럼의 가정부가 러시모어 산에 있는 미국 대통령 네 명의 거대한 얼굴을 처음으로 보고는 그의 초인적 안목을 깨닫고 놀라며 이렇게 물었습니다. “보글럼씨, 그 돌 안에 링컨 대통령의 얼굴이 있는 것을 어떻게 아셨어요?” 초인적 안목이란 모든 것을 꿰뚫어보시는 하나님을 표현하는 데에도 적절한 말입니다. 그분은 우리의 모든 것 그 이상을 보십니다. 하나님은 그분이 일을 완수하시고 우리가 그분 앞에 거룩하고 흠 없이 서게 될 때의 모습, 즉 예수님의 형상을 그대로 닮은 모습을 미리 보십니다. 우리 속에 크신 일을 시작하신 하나님은 예수 그리스도께서 오시는 바로 그날까지 그 일을 계속 하실 것입니다(빌 1:6 참조). 하나님은 방해받지 않으실 것입니다! 하나님은 우리가 완전해지는 것을 너무나 원하시기 때문에 아주 오래 전 시작하신 그 일이 끝나기 전에는 그 어떤 것도 하나님께 걸림돌이 되지 못할 것입니다. 우리가 우리 자신을 최고의 조각가 되시는 주님의 손 안에 맡기기만 한다면… 그렇게만 한다면.     "볼품없고 형편없는 너를 주님은 사랑하지 않아” 의심은 속삭인다네 주님이 지금의 내 모습을 사랑하지 않을지라도 앞으로 변해 있을 내 모습은 사랑하신다네 하나님은 그분이 원하시는 대로 변해가도록 우리 안에 역사하신다. 로마서 8:28-30 [26] 이와 같이 성령도 우리의 연약함을 도우시나니 우리는 마땅히 기도할 바를 알지 못하나 오직 성령이 말할 수 없는 탄식으로 우리를 위하여 친히 간구하시느니라 [27] 마음을 살피시는 이가 성령의 생각을 아시나니 이는 성령이 하나님의 뜻대로 성도를 위하여 간구하심이니라 [28] 우리가 알거니와 하나님을 사랑하는 자 곧 그의 뜻대로 부르심을 입은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라 [29] 하나님이 미리 아신 자들을 또한 그 아들의 형상을 본받게 하기 위하여 미리 정하셨으니 이는 그로 많은 형제 중에서 맏아들이 되게 하려 하심이니라 [30] 또 미리 정하신 그들을 또한 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라
