20 June Fri, 2014 Forgotten Memories [ Psalms 103:1 - 103:8 ] - hymn429 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. — Psalm 103:2 Recently, a friend from my youth emailed me a picture of our junior high track team. The grainy black-and-white snapshot showed a vaguely familiar group of teens with our two coaches. I was instantly swept back in time to happy memories of running the mile and the half-mile in track meets. Yet even as I enjoyed remembering those days, I found myself thinking about how easily I had forgotten them and moved on to other things. As we make our way on the journey of life, it is easy to forget places, people, and events that have been important to us along the way. Time passes, yesterday fades, and we become obsessed with the concerns of the moment. When this happens, we can also forget just how good God has been to us. Perhaps that is why David remembered as he wrote, “Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits”(Ps.103:1-2). Never is this remembrance more needed than when the heartaches of life crowd in on us. When we are feeling overwhelmed and forgotten, it’s important to recall all that He has done for us. 2014년 06월 20일 (금) 잃어버린 추억들 [ 시편 103:1 - 103:8 ] - 찬송가 429장 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하며 그의 모든 은택을 잊지 말지어다 - 시편 103:2 최근 어릴 적 친구가 중학교 시절 육상경기 팀의 사진 하나를 이메일로 보내왔습니다. 색이 바랜 그 흑백사진은 희미한 기억 속에 남아있는 친구들과 두 코치 선생님의 모습을 보여주고 있었습니다. 나는 순간 운동장에서 2.5킬로미터 정도를 달렸던 즐거웠던 추억에 잠겼습니다. 그런데 그 시절의 추억을 즐기면서도, 나는 그 추억을 쉽게 잊어버리고는 다른 것들을 생각하고 있는 자신을 발견했습니다. 인생행로를 걷는 동안 우리는 그 당시 우리에게 중요했던 장소나 사람들, 그리고 사건들을 쉽게 잊어버립니다. 시간은 지나가고 어제의 일은 희미해지며, 우리는 단지 그 순간의 일에만 집착하게 됩니다. 이렇게 되면 우리는 하나님이 우리에게 얼마나 선하신 분이었는가도 잊어버립니다. 아마도 그래서 다윗이 다음과 같이 기록하면서 잊지 않으려 했는지도 모르겠습니다. “내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 내 속에 있는 것들아 다 그의 거룩한 이름을 송축하라 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하며 그의 모든 은택을 잊지 말지어다”(시 103:1-2). 인생의 번민들로 가득 찰 때, 기억하는 것보다 우리에게 더 필요한 것은 없습니다. 우리가 완전히 무너지거나 잊혔다고 느껴질 때, 하나님께서 우리에게 행하신 모든 일을 기억하는 것이 중요합니다. 기억하게 되면, 지금, 그리고 앞으로도 하나님을 신뢰할 수 있는 용기를 얻게 될 것입니다.     세상 모든 풍파 너를 흔들어 약한 마음 낙심하게 될 때에 내려주신 주의 복을 세어라 주의 크신 복을 네가 알리라 — Johnson Oatman, Jr. (1856-1922) http://www.hymntime.com/tch/htm/c/o/u/countyou.htm http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9fMjgS4vu4o   과거에 신실하셨던 하나님을 기억하면 앞날에도 우리를 강하게 해준다. 시편 103:1-8 [1] [다윗의 시] 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하라 내 속에 있는 것들아 다 그의 거룩한 이름을 송축하라 [2] 내 영혼아 여호와를 송축하며 그의 모든 은택을 잊지 말지어다 [3] 그가 네 모든 죄악을 사하시며 네 모든 병을 고치시며 [4] 네 생명을 파멸에서 속량하시고 인자와 긍휼로 관을 씌우시며 [5] 좋은 것으로 네 소원을 만족하게 하사 네 청춘을 독수리 같이 새롭게 하시는도다 [6] 여호와께서 공의로운 일을 행하시며 억압 당하는 모든 자를 위하여 심판하시는도다 [7] 그의 행위를 모세에게, 그의 행사를 이스라엘 자손에게 알리셨도다 [8] 여호와는 긍휼이 많으시고 은혜로우시며 노하기를 더디 하시고 인자하심이 풍부하시도다.
