| A Matter Of Love |

| You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all our soul, and with all your strength. — Deuteronomy 6:5 |
Where intellect and emotion clash, the heart often has the greater wisdom”wrote the authors of A General Theory of Love. In the past, they say, people believed that the mind should rule the heart, but science has now discovered the opposite to be true. “Who we are and who we become depends, in part, on whom we love.”
Those familiar with scri-pture recognize this as an ancient truth, not a new discovery. The most important commandment God gave to His people gives the heart the prominent place. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength”(Deut.6:5). Not until the gospels of Mark and Luke do we learn that Jesus added the word mind (Mark 12:30; Luke 10:27). So, what scientists are just now discovering, the Bible taught all along.
Those of us who follow Christ also know the importance of whom we love. When we obey the greatest commandment and make God the object of our love, we can be assured of having a purpose that transcends anything we could imagine or our strength could achieve. When our desire for God dominates our hearts, our minds will stay focused on ways to serve Him, and our actions will further His kingdom on earth and in heaven. — Julie Ackerman Link |

[28] "But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.
[29] "Or how can one enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? And then he will plunder his house.
[30] "He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.
[31] "Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.
[32] "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

《사랑의 일반적인 학설》이라는 책을 쓴 저자들은 그 책에서 “지성과 감정이 충돌하는 곳에서는 마음이 더 위대한 지혜를 보여준다.”라고 쓰고 있습니다. 그들에 의하면, 사람들이 과거에는 뜻이 마음을 다스렸다고 믿었지만, 지금은 그 반대가 맞는다는 것을 과학이 증명했다는 것입니다. “우리가 누구이고 어떤 사람이 되는가 하는 것은 어느 정도는 우리가 사랑하는 사람에 의해 좌우된다.”
성경을 잘 아는 사람들은 이것이 새로운 발견이 아니라 예로부터의 진리라는 것을 알아차립니다. 하나님이 그의 백성들에게 주셨던 가장 중요한 계명을 보면 마음이 아주 두드러진 위치를 차지하고 있습니다. “너는 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 힘을 다하여 네 하나님 여호와를 사랑하라”(신 6:5). 예수님이 마가복음과 누가복음에서 뜻(막 12:30; 눅 10:27)이라는 단어를 추가하기 전까지 우리는 마음이 얼마나 중요한지 알지 못했습니다. 그러므로 과학자들이 최근 발견하고 있는 것이 실은 성경이 오래 전부터 가르쳤던 것입니다.
그리스도를 따르는 우리들은 우리가 사랑하는 대상도 중요하다는 사실을 또한 알고 있습니다. 우리가 가장 위대한 계명에 복종하고 하나님을 우리의 사랑의 대상으로 할 때, 우리는 우리가 상상할 수 있는 것 이상의, 그리고 우리 힘으로 성취할 수 있는 것 이상의 더 큰 목적을 분명히 지닐 수 있습니다. 하나님을 향한 사랑이 우리의 마음을 주장할 때, 우리의 생각은 하나님을 섬기기 위한 방법에 초점을 맞추게 될 것이고, 우리의 행동은 땅과 하늘에서 하나님의 나라를 이루려고 더욱 노력할 것입니다. |

마가복음 12:28-34
[28] 그러나 내가 하나님의 성령을 힘입어 귀신을 쫓아내는 것이면 하나님의 나라가 이미 너희에게 임하였느니라
[29] 사람이 먼저 강한 자를 결박하지 않고서야 어떻게 그 강한 자의 집에 들어가 그 세간을 강탈하겠느냐 결박한 후에야 그 집을 강탈하리라
[30] 나와 함께 아니하는 자는 나를 반대하는 자요 나와 함께 모으지 아니하는 자는 헤치는 자니라
[31] 그러므로 내가 너희에게 이르노니 사람에 대한 모든 죄와 모독은 사하심을 얻되 성령을 모독하는 것은 사하심을 얻지 못하겠고
