Date: 2011-12-23 Read:Galatians 4:1-7 THE PURSUING GOD God sent forth His Son, born of a woman . . . to redeem those who were under the law. ―Galatians 4:4-5 Hymn416 Pastor Tim Keller of Redeemer Presbyterian  Church in Manhattan rightly observes that Chris-  tianity is unique among all religions for it is about  God's pursuit of us to draw us to Himself. In  every other religious sys-tem, people pursue  their god, hoping that through good behavior,  keeping of rituals, good works, or other efforts  they will be accepted by the god they pursue.  The British poet Francis Thompson catches the  profound nature of this reality when he writes  of the relent-less pursuit of God in his life. In his  work titled "The Hound of Heaven," he writes  that as he fled from God he couldn't outrun  "those strong feet that followed . . . with unhu-  rrying chase and unperturbed pace." But God's  untiring pursuit of the wayward is not just  Thompson's story. At the heart of the Christmas  message is the wonderful truth of God's pursuit  of every one of us. As Paul affirms, "God sent  forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the  law, to redeem those who were under the law" (Gal. 4:4-5).  And it's not just the Christmas story. It's the  story of God's pursuit of Adam and Eve after  the fall. His pursuit of me! His pursuit of you!  Where would we be today if God weren't the  "Hound of Heaven?"―Joe Stowell  Died He for me, who caused His pain?  For me, who Him to death pursued?  Amazing love! How can it be  That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?  ―Wesley God's undying desire for you will never cease.

날짜: 2011-12-23 갈라디아서 4:1-7 찾아 나서시는 하나님 하나님이 그 아들을 보내사 여자에게서 나게  하시고......율법 아래 있는 자들을 속량하시고 －갈라디아서 4:4-5 찬송가416 뉴욕 맨하탄에 있는 리디머(구세주) 장로교회의 팀 켈러 목사는 하나님이 우리를 그분께로 이끌기를 추구한다는 점에서 기독교는 종교들 중에서 특이한 종교라고 정확하게 파악하고 있습니다. 다른 모든 종교 시스템에서는 사람들이 그들의 신을 찾아 나서면서, 착한 행실이나 종교의식 준수, 선행, 혹은 다른 노력들을 통해 그들이 찾는 신이 그들을 받아들여 줄 것을 기대합니다.  영국 시인 프랜시스 톰슨은 그의 삶 속에 끈질기게 찾아오시는 하나님에 대해 쓰면서 이러한 사실의 심오한 본질을 잘 파악하고 있습니다. 그는 그의 작품 「천국의 사냥개」에서, 하나님으로부터 도망치려해도 “서두르지 않고 동요 없는 걸음으로 따라오는 그 강한 발걸음”을 벗어날 수 없었다고 쓰고 있습니다. 그러나 방황하는 자를 위해 하나님이 쉬지 않고 찾아 나서신다는 것은 단지 톰슨만의 이야기가 아닙니다. 성탄절 메시지의 중심에는 우리 한 사람 한 사람을 찾아 나서시는 하나님에 대한 놀라운 진리가 담겨 있습니다. 바울이 증언하듯이 “하나님이 그 아들을 보내사 여자에게서 나게 하시고 율법 아래 나게 하신 것은 율법 아래 있는 자들을 속량하시려고”(갈 4:4-5) 그런 것입니다.  그리고 이것은 단지 성탄절 이야기만이 아니라, 타락 이후 아담과 하와를 찾아 나서시는 하나님의 이야기이기도 합니다. 나를 찾아나서시고 당신을 찾아 나서시는 하나님! 만일 하나님께서 “천국의 사냥개” 노릇을 하지 않으셨다면, 우리는 지금 어디에 있을까요?  주님께 고통을 드렸던 나를 위해 주님이 죽으셨네  주님의 죽음을 초래했던 나를 위하여  놀라운 사랑! 어찌 이런 일이 있을까!  나의 하나님, 주님께서 나를 위해 죽으시다니! 당신을 향한 하나님의 영원한  열망은 결코 그치지 않는다.

Sonship in Christ

 ¹ Now I say, as long as the heir is a child, he does not differ at all from a slave although he is owner of everything, ² but he is under guardians and managers until the date set by the father. ³ So also we, while we were children, were held in bondage under the elemental things of the world. ⁴ But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, ⁾born of a woman, born under the Law, ⁵ so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. ⁶ Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” ⁷ Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.
