date: 2012-1-23 Read: Deuteronomy 8:7-18 A Full Life Of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. —John 1:16 Hymn 489 During the celebration of the Chinese  New Year, it is customary to use certain words  in print and conversation. one word is often  used by itself. It is the word full, meaning  “abundance of” and is used to wish someone  material prosperity for the year ahead.  Moses told the Israelites about the wealth and  prosperity in the land of Canaan before they  entered it (Deut. 8:7-9). They would have  everything they needed and more. But he  warned them of the danger of forgetting that  God, the one who had brought them out of  Egypt and protected them along the way, had  givin them that abundance (v.11). Thus Moses  commanded them, “You shall remember the  Lord your God, for it is He who gives you  power to get wealth” (v.18).  “Wealth,” of course, is not just material things.  Everything you have is from God. Our Lord  Jesus told His disciples, “I have come that  [you] may have life, and that [you] may have  it more abundantly” (John 10:10).  We too may be tempted to forget that it’s the  Lord who has blessed us and has met our needs.  Our lives will be full, abundant, and satisfying only  when we are connected to Jesus Christ.  —C. 날짜: 2012-1-23 말씀: 신명기 8:7-18 충만한 삶 우리가 다 그의 충만한 데서 받으니 은혜 위에 은혜러라 —요한복음 1:16 찬송가 489 중국에서는 설날을 맞이할 때 글을 쓰거나 대화할 때에 특정한 단어를 사용하는 것이 관습으로 되어 있습니다. 그중 자주 사용되는 한 마디 말이 가득입니다. 이 말은 “풍족하다”의 의미를 지니고 있는데, 만나는 사람들에게 새해에 물질적인 축복이 있기를 기원하는 데 사용됩니다.  모세는 가나안 땅으로 들어가기 전에 이스라엘 백성들에게 그곳의 부유함과 풍요로움에 대해 미리 말해주었습니다(신명기 8:7-9). 그들이 필요한 모든 것 뿐만 아니라 그 이상으로 가질 것이라고 말했습니다. 그러나 모세는 그들을 애굽에서 구원해 내시고 광야 생활 중에 보호해 주신 하나님, 바로 그 하나님이 풍요로움을 주셨다는 것을 그들이 잊게 될 수도 있다고 경고했습니다(11절). 그래서 모세는 그들에게 이렇게 명령했습니다. “네 하나님 여호와를 기억하라 그가 네게 재물 얻을 능을 주셨음이라”(18절).  물론 “부유함”이란 물질적인 것만을 뜻하지 않습니다. 우리가 가진 모든 것은 하나님께로부터 왔습니다. 우리 주 예수 그리스도께서는 제자들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 온 것은 양으로 생명을 얻게 하고 더 풍성히 얻게 하려는 것이라”(요한복음 10:10).  우리도 우리를 축복해 주시고 우리의 필요를 충족시켜 주시는 분이 바로 여호와 하나님이심을 잊을 때가 있습니다. 우리의 삶은 예수 그리스도와 결속되어 있을 때에만 충만하고 풍요롭고 만족스러울 것입니다.  주님만이 참된 삶이고  주님을 아는 것이  이 땅에서 결코 얻을 수 없는  더욱 더 풍요로운 삶을 사는 것이네  하나님께서 주신 풍요로운 선물로 인해서 그것을 주신 분을 잊어서는 안 된다.

⁷ For ^(A)the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing forth in valleys and hills; ⁸ a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey;⁹ a land where you will eat food without scarcity, in which you will not lack anything; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. ¹⁰ When ^(B)you have eaten and are satisfied, you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you.

 ¹¹ “^[a]Beware that you do not ^(C)forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments and His ordinances and His statutes which I am commanding you today; ¹² otherwise, ^(D)when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built good houses and lived in them, ¹³ and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and gold multiply, and all that you have multiplies, ¹⁴ then your heart will become ^[b]proud and you will ^(E)forget the LORD your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, out of the house of ^[c]slavery. ¹⁵ He led you through^(F)the great and terrible wilderness, with its^(G)fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water; He ^(H)brought water for you out of the rock of flint. ¹⁶ In the wilderness He fed you manna ^(I)which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might ^(J)test you, to do good for you^[d]in the end. ¹⁷ Otherwise, ^(K)you may say in your heart, ‘My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth.’ ¹⁸ But you shall remember the LORD your God, for ^(L)it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.
