They shall be fresh and flourishing. —Psalm 92:14		늙어도 결실하며 진액이 풍족하고 빛이 청정하여 — 시편 92:14

In Psalm 92, the poet begins with a commendation of praise: “It is good to give thanks to the Lord.” Good for what? Good for you and me. It does our soul a world of good to turn from anxious thoughts and fill our days with prayerful praise; good to greet each morning with songs of thanksgiving, for such praise makes us glad. It lifts us out of gloom and replaces our sadness with cheerful songs at the “works of [His] hands” (v.4). And what is that work? The work He is doing in us!		시편 92편은 “여호와께 감사하는 것이 좋으니이다”라는 찬양으로 시작됩니다. 무엇에 좋다는 것입니까? 당신과 나에게 좋다는 것입니다. 우리를 근심스런 생각으로부터 벗어나게 하고, 우리의 나날을 신앙심 깊은 찬양으로 채워주니 우리의 영혼에 엄청나게 좋은 것입니다. 매일 아침을 감사의 노래로 맞이하게 해주고, 그러한 찬양은 우리를 기쁘게 하기 때문에 좋습니다. 우리를 어둠으로부터 들어 올리고 우리의 슬픔을 “주의 손의 행사”(4절)로 인하여 밝은 노래로 바꾸어줍니다. 그 행사가 무엇입니까? 우리 안에서 행하시는 하나님의 행사입니다!
Here’s one of my most cherished metaphors: “The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; they shall be fresh and flourishing” (vv.12-14).		여기 내가 가장 소중하게 여기는 비유가 있습니다. “의인은 종려나무 같이 번성하며 레바논의 백향목 같이 발육하리로다 여호와의 집에 심겼음이여 우리 하나님의 궁정에서 흥왕하리로다 늙어도 결실하며 진액이 풍족하고 빛이 청청하여”(12-14절).
Palms are symbols of towering beauty and cedars of unbending strength. These are the characteristics of those who have been “planted in the house of the Lord” (v.13). Their roots go down into the soil of God’s unquenchable love.		종려나무는 우뚝 솟은 아름다움의 상징이며 백향목은 구부러지지 않는 강인함의 상징입니다. 이것들은 “여호와의 집에 심긴”(13절) 것들의 특징입니다. 그들의 뿌리는 하나님의 억누를 수 없는 사랑의 토양으로 뻗쳐 내려갑니다.
Do you think your usefulness to God is over? Continue in God’s Word, rooted and grounded in Christ, drinking in His love and faithfulness. Then, no matter your age, you will bear fruit and be “fresh and flourishing.” —David Roper		하나님께 쓰임 받는 것이 끝났다고 생각하십니까? 계속 하나님의 말씀 안에 거하며, 그리스도 안에 뿌리내리고, 주님의 사랑과 신실함 속에서 물을 빨아들이십시오. 그러면 당신의 나이가 몇 살이든지, 열매를 맺으며 “신선하고 무성하게” 될 것입니다.

Praise comes naturally when you count your blessings.		축복을 생각하면 찬양은 자연히 따라온다.

And to ^(B)sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 
² To ^(C)declare Your lovingkindness in the morning 
And Your ^(D)faithfulness ^[a]by night, 
^3 [b]With the ^(E)ten-stringed lute and ^[c]with the^(F)harp, 
^[d]With resounding music ^[e]upon the ^(G)lyre. 
⁴ For You, O LORD, have made me glad by ^[f]what You ^(H)have done,
