Date: 2011-11-18 Read:Acts 17:19-31 Becoming Bilingual In Him we live and move and have our  being, as also some of your own poets  have said, “For we are also His offspring.” -Acts 17:28 Hymn279 Is it possible in a society that seems increasingly indifferent to the gospel to communicate the  Good News to people who don’t share our  faith?  One way to connect with people who are  unfamiliar with the things of Christ is to become  culturally “bilingual.” We do this by communica-  ting in ways people can easily relate to. Knowing  about and discussing music, film, sports, and  television, for example, can offer just such an  opportunity. If people hear us “speak their  language,” without endorsing or condoning the  media or events we refer to, it could open the  door to sharing the timeless message of Christ.  Paul gave us an example of this in Acts 17. While visiting the Areopagus in Athens, he spoke to a  thoroughly secular culture by quoting pagan  Greek poets as a point of reference for the spirit- ual values he sought to communicate. He said,  “In Him we live and move and have our being,  as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For  we are also His offspring’” (Acts 17:28). Just as  Paul addressed that culture by knowing what  they were reading, we may have greater impact  for the gospel by relating it to people in terms  they can readily embrace.  Are you trying to reach a neighbor or a co-worker with the gospel? 날짜: 2011-11-18 사도행전 17:19-31 이중언어 구사하기 우리가 그를 힘입어 살며 기동하며 있느니라 너희 시인 중에도 어떤 사람들의 말과 같이 우리가 그의 소생이라 하니－사도행전 17:28 찬송가279 복음에 점점 무관심해지고 있는 것 같은 오늘날의 사회에서 믿음이 없는 자들에게 복음을 전하는 것이 과연 가능한 일일까요?  그리스도에 대한 것들에 생소한 사람들과 가까워지는 방법 중의 하나는 문화적으로 “이중언어 구사자”가 되는 것입니다. 사람들에게 쉽게 다가갈 수 있는 방법으로 대화하는 것입니다. 예를 들면, 음악, 영화, 스포츠나 텔레비전과 같은 것들에 대해서 알고 그들과 의견을 나누는 것은 아주 좋은 기회를 제공합니다. 어떤 뉴스나 사건들에 대한 지지 여부를 떠나서 우리가 “그들의 (문화적) 언어로 말하는”것을 사람들이 들을 때에 그리스도의 영원한 메시지를 나누는 문이 열릴 수 있을 것입니다.  바울은 사도행전 17장에서 좋은 예를 보여 줍니다. 아테네의 아레오바고를 방문하던 중 에 그는 철저히 세속적인 문화에 속한 무리들에게 말할 때, 전하고자 했던 영적인 가치에 대한 예문으로 이방 희랍 시인들의 시를 인용하였습니다. 그는 “우리가 그를 힘입어 살며 기동하며 존재하느니라 너희 시인 중에도 어떤 사람들의 말과 같이 우리가 그의 소생이라 하니”(행 17:28)라고 말했습니다. 바울이 사람들이 무엇을 읽는지 알고 그들의 문화를 다루었던 것처럼, 우리도 사람들이 받아들일 준비가 되어 있는 말로 복음을 이야기한다면 보다 더 큰 복음의 영향을 줄 수 있을 것입니다.  복음을 들고 이웃이나 직장 동료에게 가까이 가고자 노력하고 계십니까? 이중언어 구사자가 되어 보십시오.  이웃이 당신의 말에 귀 기울이게 하고  당신의 진실된 배려를 증명하려면  그가 이해하는 말을 사용함으로써  당신이 공감하고 있음을 보여주라 성경의 내용을 세상에 만나는 지점에 가져가야 한다.

 ¹⁹ And they took hold of him, and brought him unto the Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new teaching is, which is spoken by thee?

 ²⁰ For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean.

 ²¹ (Now all the Athenians and the strangers sojourning there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell or to hear some new thing.)

 ²² And Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus, and said, Ye men of Athens, in all things, I perceive that ye are very religious.

 ²³ For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. What therefore ye worship in ignorance, this I set forth unto you.

 ²⁴ The God that made the world and all things therein, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

 ²⁵ neither is he served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

 ²⁶ and he made of one every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed seasons, and the bounds of their habitation;

 ²⁷ that they should seek God, if haply they might feel after him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us:

 ²⁸ for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain even of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

 ²⁹ Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and device of man.

 ³⁰ The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked; but now he commandeth men that they should all everywhere repent:

 ³¹ inasmuch as he hath appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
