Date: 2011-08-07 Read:Ephesians 6:10-18 TIME FOR THE ARMOR Take . . . the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. -Ephesians 6:17 Hymn390 I discovered rather quickly that a young boy quoting Scripture in a children’s program at church didn’t know much about the Bible. He was quoting Ephesians 6:17 from our study on  spiritual armor: “Take . . . the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”  When he tried quoting the reference, he said, “I didn’t think I needed to memorize the numbers, since that’s just the time of day.” That’s what he thought the numbers meant since it was close to 6:17 p.m. at the time! I smiled, opened my Bible, and showed him that the numbers refer to the chapter and verse.    While knowing the Bible reference is helpful, hiding God’s Word in our hearts is what is truly important (Ps. 119:11). Memorizing Scripture allows us to have it in mind so we can ward off Satan’s attacks (Eph. 6:10-18). For instance,  when the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness, Christ withstood him by quoting the Scriptures (Matt. 4:1-11). Likewise, when we are tempted  to disobey God, we can recall what we’ve learned and choose to obey. We can also share the teachings of the Word with others to encourage them to trust Him too.  No matter what time of day it is, we should always take the spiritual armor of the Word of God with us.  FOR FURTHER STUDY  What specific temptations do you face?  Look in a concordance in the back of a Bible  for verses that can guide you in those situations.  Review them often. No evil can penetrate the armor of God.

날짜: 2011-08-07 에베소서 6:10-18 전신갑주의 시간 성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라 －에베소서 6:17 찬송가390 나는 교회 어린이 프로그램에서 성경구절을 인용하던 한 남자 아이가 성경에 관해서 잘 모르고 있다는 것을 곧 알 수 있었습니다. 영적 전신갑주를 공부하면서 그 소년은 “성령의 검 곧 하나님의 말씀을 가지라”라는 에베소서 6장 17절을 인용했습니다.  소년은 성경 구절을 인용하면서 다음과 같이 말했습니다. “이 구절에 나타난 숫자는 현재 시간이므로 외울 필요가 없다고 생각합니다.” 마침 그 때가 6시 17분쯤이었으므로 그 소년은 성경의 장절 번호를 시간으로 오해했던 것이지요! 나는 웃으면서 성경책을 펴서, 그 아이에게 숫자는 성경의 장과 절을 가리키는 것임을 알려주었습니다.  성경 구절을 인용할 줄 아는 것이 도움이 되겠지만, 정말로 중요한 것은 하나님의 말씀을 우리 마음속에 간직하는 것입니다(시 119:11). 성경 구절을 암기하면 그 말씀이 우리 마음속에 새겨져서 사탄의 공격을 물리칠 수 있게 됩니다(엡 6:10-18). 한 예로, 마귀가 광야에서 예수님을 시험했을 때, 예수님은 성경구절을 인용해 마귀를 물리치셨습니다(마 4:1-11). 마찬가지로 하나님께 불순종하고 싶은 유혹에 빠지려 할 때, 우리가 암기해 둔 성경구절을 기억해내어 순종의 길로 돌아올 수 있습니다. 또한 성경의 가르치심을 다른 사람과 나눔으로써 그들도 하나님을 믿을 수 있도록 격려해 줄 수 있습니다.  현재 시간이 몇 시 몇 분이든 상관없이 우리는 하나님 말씀으로 영적 무장을 늘 하고 있어야 합니다.  더 공부할 점 당신은 지금 어떤 구체적인  시험에 직면하고 있습니까? 성경 맨 뒤에 있는  인용색인을 찾아 그러한 상황에서 당신을  인도 해 줄 성경구절을 찾아보십시오.  그리고 자주 되새겨 보십시오.   하나님의 전신갑주를  꿰뚫을 수 있는 악은 없다.

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. ¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,^[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. ¹³Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
